This year, VRIPHYS will be preceded by a half-day tutorial/workshop for SOFA-users on November 27. SOFA is an Open Source framework primarily targeted at real-time simulation, with an emphasis on medical simulation. It is mostly intended for the research community to help develop newer algorithms, but can also be used as an efficient prototyping tool. SOFA is currently developed by 3 INRIA teams: Shacra, Evasion and Asclepios. More information about SOFA can be found here.
This SOFA-User day will take place at IRCICA as the VRIPHYS conference (see traveling instructions here).
This idea of this meeting is to propose some tutorials for SOFA (coding with Python, the CUDA computing in SOFA, image processing with SOFA) and to present recent work based on SOFA. This will also be the opportunity to increase exchange and communication within the SOFA community. The inscription for this event is free and a buffet lunch will be offered. This SOFA-User day is partially funded by InSimo: a recent spin-off working with SOFA and developing medical simulators.
